💃🏼 While I’m trying to catch up on sleep, here’s a little post for you 🤗
💃🏼 Prom is suuuper expensive — from the dress all the way to decorations and DJs:
👗 Dress – anywhere from $100 to $700 (or even more!)
👠 Shoes – prices vary a lot. I didn’t even buy heels, I got a really good pair of comfy Michael Kors shoes for just $40 and I’m sooo happy with them 😊
💅🏻 Nails – $40–50, Pedicure – $50 (I skipped it since my shoes were closed)
💇🏼♀️ Hairstyle – $40–50 (even for simple curls!)
💐 Flowers (bouquets/corsages) – $20–50
🎨 Makeup – no idea, almost everyone does it themselves 😂
💃🏼 Plus extras like:
🚗 car & gas
✂️ alterations for the dress
💃🏼 Going as a couple is cheaper: $25 per pair (ok, technically that was for the after-prom party, but let’s count it in 😅).
💃🏼 I asked the organizers how much the whole prom cost… and I was SHOCKED:
- $16,000!!! That’s like a million rubles!
💃🏼 Decorations and setup (yes, there was even a fountain!) – $3,000
- DJ with giant screens and powerful speakers
- after-prom party
- food, snacks, and sooo much more
💃🏼 The good thing is, some of it gets covered by gifts at the after-prom (I’ll tell you about that later 😉).
💃🏼 But honestly… it’s worth it!! For reaaal…
I’d do it again in a heartbeat 😂
Well… maybe after I finally catch up on sleep first 😅
Try describing what prom would look like for you if you joined an exchange program in the U.S.! Would you go all out with the dress, flowers, and party… or keep it simple?
