My First Month in the USA

My First Month in the USA
So, it’s been more than a month in America—what’s even happening?
I go to school and practices regularly.
I actually do ALL my homework (never thought that was even possible).
I’ve been teaching Americans Russian (honestly, the funniest way to spend time).
I mow lawns (Americans don’t really like this job, but for me—it’s just fun every single time… maybe because it’s still new for me).
Went to a waterpark! The last one I’d been to was in Kazan (probably the biggest in Europe). This one was different, but I met some guys from my school there (that was cool). The slides were awesome, and the pizza for $26 was amazing too.
I even recorded some rap.
I even recorded some rap.
And… I STARTED RUNNING!!! I don’t know what’s happening to me, but seriously—after 3 hours of practice, I come home and still go running (if America changed me this much in just one month, what will I be like after a year??).
Language
It’s getting easier. I can talk to anyone about almost anything (sometimes I pause to find the right word, but it’s fine).
Oh, and I did my first flip on the ground (no mats, no trampolines, just me!).
The not-so-good stuff:
I started drinking way too much soda (yeah, really bad).
A girl texted me that she likes me, but I didn’t say it back (feel kind of guilty, don’t know why).
I stay up too late because of homework.
That’s pretty much it for now…

Try it yourself: imagine your own first month as an exchange student in the USA—what would surprise you the most?
