Funny Facts About School in the USA
🎯 Without a key, classroom doors only open from the inside. So you run to class like it’s some kind of race: “the sun sets, the gates close!”
🎯 In some subjects, there are actually two teachers. One leads the lesson, while the other helps students with questions if the first teacher is busy with someone else.
🎯 Most classrooms have desks attached to chairs, and each desk is only for one person. The desks are super tiny, which doesn’t match at all with the huge textbooks. In some rooms, there are long desks with benches for 2–3 people, and in one classroom I even saw a desk for two with separate chairs.
🎯 Every classroom door has a glass window insert.

🎯 Drinking fountains are everywhere, usually in pairs: one lower for younger students, and one higher for older students and teachers. I saw 2–3 pairs in the hallways and even some inside classrooms.

🎯 Lockers! The same ones you see in American movies, TV shows, and cartoons. There are about 300 of them here.

🎯 Above every classroom door, there’s a sign with the teacher’s name: Mr. / Mrs. + last name. The signs are decorated a bit, not childish, but cute.
🎯 In some classrooms and hallways, there are motivational quotes — printed, drawn, or handwritten. One of them really changed something in me the first time I read it. It’s still my favorite: “In the world where you can be anything — be kind.”
🎯 The whole school runs on Google. Almost all homework, announcements, reminders, class assignments, and even some tests — it’s all Google Classroom, Google Email, and so on. I’ll probably make a separate post just about this…
