Usually, Americans celebrate birthdays at home, in their backyard. Early in the morning, we started decorating ours. There were sooo many balloons! 🎈
🎊 We didn’t go too crazy with the food — everyone could make their own burger or hot dog.
🎊 My host mom came up with a super fun contest program. To get everyone excited, the grand prize was $100! (About 30 people came to the party.)
🎊 For the first time in my life, I had a piñata. It’s a big toy full of candy that you have to break open. Guys, it’s insanely fun! The youngest person starts hitting the piñata, and then everyone takes turns by age. At some point, someone finally manages to break it, and an unbelievable amount of candy pours out. Everyone instantly rushes to grab as much as they can!
🎊 Then came the cake — and yep, I ended up with it all over my face (even a bit in my hair).
🎊 We danced a lot (I was even taught some Mexican dances), sang, and just had an amazing time.
Try sharing your own dream birthday party experience — maybe one day you’ll celebrate it as an exchange student in the USA!
